American Red Cross
Blood Drives – 4 per year, averaging 50 productive points each drive
Multiple Sclerosis Walk
A group of dedicated employees have dominated the local MS Walk: since 2001 we have raised over $153,000 towards a cure.
Today Show Charitable Foundation, Inc.
The holidays were a bit brighter for thousands of children across the country in 2006 thanks to the efforts of the Direct Selling Association (DSA) and Southwestern/Great American, Inc (Southwestern). Through the pooled resources of 38 direct selling companies, the DSA accumulated nearly $8 million in products and cash for NBC's TODAY Show Toy Drive.
Tsunami Relief / Katrina Relief
2005 - Donations to the Mary Moore Foundation go directly to individuals and are tax deductible for the donor. Over the years, the Mary Moore Foundation has helped numerous SW/GA employees and other employees and family members in each of Spencer Hays’ other companies.
- $25,000 donation to affected employees in the Gulf State Region via the Mary Moore Foundation
- Numerous employee contributions to this foundation and the American Red Cross – designated for Hurricane Katrina Relief
- Southwestern matched employee gifts $50 to $2,000
PENCIL Foundation
Since 1984, Southwestern has partnered with Percy Priest Elementary through the PENCIL Foundation. Included in the partnership is the annual printing of the school calendar, yearbook and directory, annual holiday projects, teacher and staff gifts, awards for perfect attendance, principle’s list and honor roll and product donation for the Rising Star program.
Matching Gifts Program
The Southwestern Company maintains an active matching gifts program for employees to support educational institutions. Nearly 50 schools were recipients of such gifts last year.
